Yes, even paradise has it's share of abandoned cars! I snapped this picture in Lawa'i on the Island of Kaua'i, down a narrow secondary road off Highway 530, just South of the Highway 50 Junction. There were 6 or 7 old cars lined up on the shoulder, all in about the same state of disintegration. They all had the letters "CK" painted on them, which I suspect is some sort of Kaua'i County designation used to mark abandoned vehicles for removal. The County of Kaua'i seems to remove abandoned cars pretty regularly, since several others that I saw on the Island were removed within the few days that I was there.


That's sugar cane growing up around and through those cars.
